Danish Anker-Line Casserole Dish & Stand by Jens Quistgaard
Black casserole dish and stand designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954, a Danish sculptor and industrial designer, which was part of the Anker-Line range for De Forenede Jernstoeberier. The casserole dish is made of enamel coated cast-iron and sits within an iron frame wrapped in rattan and on teak legs, enabling the casserole to go straight from oven to table. A design classic, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has an example of this piece in its collection.
The item is generally in very good condition with some light surface wear and scratches and a couple of small chips to the inside rim.
