1950s Gordon Russell Ellipses Sideboard
Sold
Known as the Ellipses sideboard because of its striking pattern of overlapping circles and ellipses, this piece was made by Gordon Russell Limited and designed by their chief designer W H Russell in the 1950s. The frame is veneered in mahogany and the door and drawer fronts in Indian rosewood which are incised to create the pattern by displaying the beech wood underneath. It has a double cupboard with an internal shelf and two drawers, one containing a cutlery compartment. This is the rarer version which has longer legs.
The item has been refinished and is generally in very good condition with the odd sign of wear and tear.
